I am most excited about a habit goal that I have set to create my tending sheet each month and check my tending sheets each day. This will be so helpful to keep me on track with each of my goals. Can’t wait to get started!
The MASSIVE declutter and sort.
SInce the pandemic started I have sat A LOT and done nothing. I am in a state that has not stopped any mandates yet and so I have not gone out and done my usual comfort fun things, like shopping I LOVE shopping but I really can’t anymore only curbside is allowed for me. So I am most looking forward to retraining my brain to think of entertainment that requires movement but not indoors or large gatherings. So 1 goal is going from couch potato to exercising 2x on my treadmill a day because my health needs it that often, seriously I have moved that little. Most days have been getting out of bed, walk to bathroom, walk to kitchen for breakfast, go back to living room and sit….. homeschool sitting, work from home on computer sitting and move very very little in my small home. I need to find ways to move a whole lot more!! I am so excited to meet this goal I have already been starting by joining ifit challenges but I am not at 2x a day yet.
It’s not necessarily that I’m excited about it but I know it’s incredibly important: stop over spending, better budgeting, and good money management overall. This is going to take extreme intentionality from me and major support from my husband. I need to be a good steward of what God has given me. Also, my word for 2022 is “Contentment” so they go hand-in-hand.
The goal I am simultaneously so excited about and so challenged by is to “do one thing at a time”. This goal feels like a keystone habit — the one thing that can help me do great things everywhere else. It can help me become more comfortable with slower progress, help me be less irritable with my kids (hello, they are *not* an interruption simply because I am trying to do too many things at once), and it can help me find the one thing I can do next to tackle a finish-line goal.
I have so much growth to do here, but know this can be a game changer in the direction of growing what Matters to me.
Setting up my finances well to buy a home. I’ve always wanted to be a better save, but never put pen to paper on actually owning a home. I’m excited that this year we will hopefully find a home to build a life we love in.
Choose Joy. I usually have 6-8 goals but this year is 3 big goals will some mini goals under each.
I have a similar goal, Courtney – “Tend Toward Happiness!” Would love to hear your mini-goals and starting steps. This is a “Big Dream” goal for me, so it feels abstract and overwhelming to start. We can do it!
I’m excited to take some ownership of my finances by creating a will and learning more about investments. It feels ridiculous to say this but it’s something I’ve needed and wanted to do for a few years now.
To start schooling to become a CNS and directly serve my community!!!
I’m most excited about writing my book in 2022 and simplifying my life.
Build play into everyday
Do you remember the line from the movie, “Chariots of Fire” when the Olympic runner, Eric Liddell, says, “God made me fast. I feel God’s pleasure when I run”?
Well, I’ve discovered that that is my life’s goal, “To feel God’s pleasure.” What an awakening!! I feel God’s pleasure in the delight I have when I sing, serve, teach, preach, counsel, create, . . . He’s given me so many ways and things that I can do, that it has been difficult, at times, to find out the one focus of my life…and I’ve sensed for about 30 years now, that I need one over-riding goal, to focus my energy and the abilities God has given–‘else I’m all over the map!
To feel God’s pleasure . . . it is not a selfish pursuit because when I feel God’s pleasure, I am almost always doing something that brings an awareness of Him to others!
I am soooo excited about this focusing realization.
Thank-you, CWM team (they say “it takes a village”), for leading me to articulating this life-goal.
M <><.
I’m going to have so much fun unpacking this life-goal so it is reflected in all my mini-goals, action steps, my being, and my doing! M <><.
